WARM AND STORMY: A mixed bag to start off the new work week with a new storm system moving in. Showers and thunderstorms will be possible especially later this evening. Some of the storms will be severe northwest of the state over South Dakota where a slight risk of severe weather is outlooked. The front will move through the state on Tuesday with showers and storms possible mainly over the eastern counties in the afternoon. Severe weather is outlooked just to the east and south of the state on Tuesday. Temperatures will be cooler today mainly over the east due to a backdoor cold front settling in. Readings will barely make it to 60 over the east with lower to middle 60s west. Tuesday will see 70s statewide.

BYE BYE WARMTH: The model continues to show an end to the warmer than average temperatures during the first few days of April. A strong cold front will move through the midwest with some showers and thunderstorms. Severe weather is possible but too early to determine this early. Readings behind the front will likely drop below average, possibly 40s for highs and lows below freezing. This looks to last for a few days before a warming trend ahead of another storm system comes in.
