COLD BLAST COMING: One more day of at to above average readings before a cold front comes through later tonight into Friday. Temperatures behind the front will drop into the upper teens and 20s for highs with lows in the single digits and lower teens. Some cloudiness will accompany the front but outside of a flurry, no precipitation is expected with the passage.

QUIET WEATHER: The weekend remains quiet and cool with readings still a few degrees below the seasonal norm, a disturbance moves in Monday that may spark off some snow showers, but as of now accumulations look light. More details on this event in the coming days.

MORE ACTIVE AHEAD: The pattern becomes more active and colder and a trough seemingly settling over the eastern half of the country for the latter half of February. With this trough and possible moisture return from the Gulf of Mexico, we may be able to see some significant snow close by. This model run brings something similar to that, but it’s beyond the seven day period and we’ll need to keep an eye on it. But as of now the end of February, looks active and cold, meaning better chances of snow ahead.
