MORE WARM DAYS: The temperatures will stay above average a few more days heading into the new week. Yesterday saw readings in the 30s and 40s, about 20 degrees cooler than it was on Thursday. Temperature will again approach the 50° once more early this coming week before a cold front comes through Wednesday night into Thursday morning. Record Highs aren’t expected.
COOL OFF: The cold front will bring reality to the state with temperatures back into the 20s to lower 30s across the state, lows will be in the teens. The front will bring some scattered flurries or a light snow shower, but accumulations aren’t expected. It will bring some breezy conditions on Thursday that may bring wind chills into the single digits. It will begin to warm slightly going into next weekend, but only into the 30s.
SNOW?: Besides the slight chance of some snow Wednesday night into Thursday, there won’t be a really big storm until passed the middle of the month according to the latest run. A storm with another push of Arctic Weather may come through around the 18th and 19th, with an Alberta Clipper type system a few days later. Each system may bring some accumulating snow with it. Of course again this is over ten days out and we’ve seen this numerous times on the GFS and it later disappears. It’s very rare to not have much if any snow on the ground for most of the month of January in the state. Stay Tuned.
