VERY WARM: There could be some record highs later today across the state, with the abnormal warm weather continuing. Temperatures today will easily get into the 50s across the state outside the far northeast which may be stuck in the upper 40s. Some places in western Iowa may even get into the 60s! There doesn’t seem to be an end in sight, outside of a cold front that will come through on Friday but even then temperatures will only cool to the 30s to near 40°, still above average for this time of year.

COLD BLASTS: There are some cold blasts coming but with no snow on the ground, they won’t be more than bringing temperatures back to average across the state if not slightly above that. There may be a flurry by the middle of next week with another plunge of colder air, with a more substantial event possibly by the following weekend. Until then, the warmer than normal weather will continue with the ground continuing to have no snow on it and the weather staying dry.
