LITTLE SNOW: Some snow shower and flurry activity will continue through the first half of the day but will not lead to a White Christmas for anyone across the state. It will bring some slightly cooler conditions for the end of the week and Christmas eve before a slight warming trend through Christmas into the following week. Past the precipitation today, there is little if any over the next week to ten days according to this model run and it’s not expected to change anytime soon. No snow for those who really want it.

WARM NEW YEAR: The model is continuing to show a fairly warm start to the new year in just ten days time. A ridge will be setting up over the Plains which will shift the colder weather well to our north and northeast. Temperatures in the state may get well into the 40s a week from Sunday and there still won’t be any snow on the ground at that time as well, but the warm weather isn’t expected to last as the run continues to also show an arctic high developing over the Yukon toward the 6th which, if it pans out may drop southward bringing with it colder than average weather and perhaps some snow. One can only hope.
