COOL COOL COOL: It will be cooler but typical of December weather with temperatures in the 20s and lower 30s for highs through the upcoming week and lows in the single digits and teens (cooler in snow pack areas). No real excitement is seen over the next week sans another frontal system sweeping in from the northwest that may kick off a flurry or snow shower Thursday night into Friday, but accumulations aren’t likely.

COLD COLD COLD: Further into the month, the GFS is showing a possible plunge of Arctic weather by mid-month. This will follow a possible storm system that may graze the state with some snow. Temperatures may crash into the teens and lower 20s for highs, given any snowpack on the ground, with lows possibly at or below zero. If this pans out, this will be the first real push of Arctic weather this season. One of possibly many to come.
