The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for a large section of western into northern Iowa for today through tomorrow morning. In these areas, rain and a mix will continue through the morning hours today before colder air filters in changing the precipitation to snow. A swath of 2-5″ of snow with some isolated heavier totals will be possible in the Advisory area. Travel is likely to become impacted during the overnight hours later tonight into Sunday morning. The snow will end across the state Sunday morning with significantly colder temperatures for the beginning of the week.
