COOLING OFF: Temperatures will continue to slowly drop through the mid-week with a passage of another front later today. This will bring winds around to the northwest and usher in colder air to the state. This will includes temperatures down into the teens and middle 20s for lows and highs in the 40s to around 50. With the dry air around, this will lead to a very high fire danger across the northern and western counties of the state where the Grassland Fire Danger Index will be in the High or Very High Category. There will be a slow warm up beginning on Thursday when winds will shift back to the south and southwest with readings back into the middle and upper 50s by the weekend.

WET SATURDAY: There is a decent chance of some showers and perhaps a thunderstorm across the state on Saturday into early on Sunday. Amounts will remain light with most areas getting a quarter inch or less. (Some areas may not get rainfall at all) This will be followed by more cold air from Canada.

THANKSGIVING: Still is looking like Thanksgiving will remain dry and somewhat warm across the state. This will also ring tree for Black Friday shoppers as well. The next real storm after the holiday will wait until the week after which may bring a significant snow to the state. We’ll have several more days before we pinpoint this storm more carefully.
