Iowa Forecast Discussion 11/11/2011

NOTE: Remember no Forecast videos through Monday due to Travel.

FEW BUMPS: The weather will remain fairly calm over the next week with only a few bumps in the road here and there. The main bump in the road will come Sunday with a chance of a few showers. The chance of rain isn’t very promising, about 30% or lower and the amounts will remain under a quarter inch if not a tenth of an inch. Another bump will be the breezy conditions this coming weekend which on Saturday will boost temperatures back into the 50s and lower 60s. It will become cooler to start next week with highs dropping back into the 40s to lower 50s, but temperatures will slowly rise toward the following weekend.

THANKSGIVING WEEK: With Thanksgiving now less than two weeks away and now on the model runs, albeit in voo-doo, we’ll look ahead. Currently it looks like the week of Thanksgiving will be very active across the northern tier of the country with numerous storm systems moving across the area. One such storm is possible on Sunday with another larger system by Tuesday that may bring significant snow to the state. We’ll have to keep an eye out for this storm if it continues to show up on continous model runs. Thanksgiving looks dry at this time with seasonal readings, with Black Friday also showing decent weather with no real brutually cold weather for early morning shoppers.
