Latest on Possible Winter Storm

Probability of 2" of snow or more over 48hrs (Tuesday-Thursday AM)

Here is the latest probability of snow across the state with this storm system. It is looking like the main band of snow will set up across the north central and northeastern counties where the chances are greater for at least 2 inches of snow. There will be a band of snow along and 50 miles either side of a line from around Omaha through Denison and Carroll northeastward through Clarion to Osage. Likely accumulations on the grassy surfaces (roadways should mainly be ok) will be 1-3″ with some isolated 4″ totals. This will be a very wet slushy snow (Snow Ratio will be about 5-6:1). Most of this snow will melt on contact due to the warm ground across the state. However some may stick around at least through Wednesday night before temperatures warm above freezing Thursday. Winter Weather Advisories may be issued later this morning (to replace the Watch and or be issued elsewhere)
