LOTS OF PRECIP: Rain is the word for today and a lot of it. Rainfall amounts by the time all is said and done on Wednesday evening may range between 1-3″ across the state. The heaviest amounts will be across the southeastern half with the lightest to the north and west. Snow continues to be an issue, with a Winter Storm Watch in effect this evening into Wednesday morning across the northern into northeastern Iowa. (This will likely change to a Winter Weather Advisory later today). Snowfall accumulations (on grassy areas only!) will range between 1-3″ with some isolated 4″ amounts. Heavier snow will fall to the north and northeast of the state where up to 6″ is possible across Wisconsin. The entire state may see a mix of rain and snow as the precipitation comes to an end on Wednesday with no more than a dusting on grassy areas southeast of the Winter Storm Watch area.

NEXT STORM: The next one is still fluid at this time. The main precipitation looks to come into the state Sunday night and last through most of the morning into the early afternoon hours of Monday. It’s too early to determine amounts at this time, but it looks to be that most if not all of the precipitation with this system will be in the form of rain. Any changes will note on future videos and discussions.

THANKSGIVING: Thanksgiving is just beyond the model forecast and right now (according to this run), it looks to be rather breezy and warm with a storm system just to the west that may effect the state that evening into Black Friday, but this is WAY out there and we have plenty of time to look at that.
