RAIN THEN COLD: There is a very slight chance of rain late tonight into Sunday across the far northern counties of the state. Any amounts will be light, only a few hundredths at most. The best chance of rain will wait until late Monday into Tuesday with a more significant storm system. This one could kick off a few isolated thunderstorms. Amounts here could be up to a half inch in isolated areas, with most places receiving at least a quarter inch. Up to this point temperatures will have recovered nicely from the frost and freeze conditions of Friday morning. Highs will be in the 60s to lower 70 through Tuesday when the cold front comes through. After that temperatures will collapse back into the 40s and lower 50s for highs.

NOR’EASTER: This storm will develop a new low pressure center over the southern Rockies on Tuesday into Wednesday and then race eastward, then northeastward across the Atlantic coast producing some heavy showers and thunderstorms (some of which could be severe) and some mtn snow. We’ll be just north and northwest of this monster so only a few clouds are possible across the state from this feature mid-week through Friday.

FARTHER OUT: The pattern looks rather benign heading into November. No real large storm systems (like the possible nor’easter later next week) effecting us, and no real monster cold snaps either. We’ll keep a look out.
