COLD PUSH BEGINS: A cold front will be out of the state early this morning with cooler conditions moving in. Today highs will be in the 60s to around 70, about 15-25 degrees below the highs set yesterday. Another stronger cold front will move in on Wednesday that will bring increased cloudiness to the state and possibly a sprinkle or a light shower especially over the western half of the state. Highs Wednesday may not even get out of the 50s!, but many areas will be in the lower to middle 60s. Lows Thursday morning may drop especially in the cooler locations across northeastern Iowa into the lower and middle 30s. Other locales will see upper 30s to lower 40s. Friday morning may also see some upper 30s in cooler locations with 40s elsewhere.

RAIN CHANCES AHEAD: Model shows a possible chance by this weekend of some showers, but this is likely to be more cloudiness with maybe a few light showers or sprinkles. The main widespread chance of rain will come late Sunday night into Monday with a cold front moving into the state from the west.

LATER ON: Later into the month, the weather pattern dries out once more across the state with the main storm track shifting back to the north. This may bring some above average temps toward the end of the month.
