COLD PUSH AHEAD: A colder push of air is forecast by the middle of this coming week with a frontal system moving in from the northwest. Prior to this, warm and humid conditions will be possible early this week. Temperatures will be in the 80s on Monday with dew points in the 60s. Cool air will filter into the state Tuesday with another shot coming Wednesday which may trigger yet more showers especially over the western half of the state. We could see some mid to possibly upper 30s in the northeastern counties of the state both Thursday and Friday morning next week (MOS is suggesting low 40s but with the 540 line into NE Iowa, it will likely be cooler.) The rest of the state will see lower to middle 40s. Temperatures will slowly rebound as we head into next weekend with highs climbing out of the 60s to the lower 70s by next weekend and lows heading toward 50 once more. Rainfall over the next week will be sporadic with areas receiving anywhere from a trace to a half inch.
