LEE CLOUDS: Cloudiness from what was once Tropical Storm Lee which made landfall in Louisiana on Saturday will be moving into the state from the east today. Little if any moisture will accompany the system, however there could be a shower along the Mississippi River from Clinton on down and across southeastern Iowa. The northwestern half of the state may not see any clouds from this system at all. This will continue into Saturday where there still could be an isolated shower across the far southeastern counties (Des Moines, Henry, Van Buren and Lee counties) otherwise skies will slowly clear out from NW to SE. By Sunday the entire state should see Mostly Sunny to Sunny Skies with highs a few degrees either side of 80.

COLD PUSH: A frontal system will move into the state Tuesday bringing a threat of some showers and isolated thunderstorms. The chance is about 20-30% at this time. What it will bring is a much cooler air mass once more that will drop highs back into the 60s for highs by mid-week and lows back into the 40s. With the 540 line not that far to the north of the state, there may be even colder readings than what is being forecast. Temperatures will remain below average at least through the following weekend before rebounding.
