RETURN OF TRIPLE H: A warm front will move through the state Tuesday into early Wednesday which is expected to bring back the possible last gasp of TRIPLE H for the season. Temperatures Wednesday and Thursday will be in the upper 80s to mid 90s with heat indices approaching or exceeding 100° once more. Friday will be slightly cooler with a few more clouds and a chance of showers and thunderstorms as a cold front moves into the state from the northwest. This may effect some of the High School Football Games Friday night. The storm chances may last into early Saturday, which may effect tailgating for the Iowa v Tennessee Tech game at Kinnick Stadium in Iowa City. The game and the Iowa State v Northern Iowa game should NOT be effected by rain. After that, the Labor Day Weekend looks to be wonderful with highs in the mid 70s to near 80 on Sunday and about the same for Labor Day as well.

MID SEPTEMBER: Heading further into the ninth month of the year, the pattern looks to remain mostly dry for the state with no real strong jet stream nearby and no real strong system to bring moisture in from the Gulf of Mexico. This has been seen on several runs over the last few days. We’ll see if a dry September continues on subsequent runs.
