2011 Missouri River Flooding Update #9

MISSOURI RIVER AT SIOUX CITY HAS FALLEN BELOW FLOOD STAGE (FIRST TIME SINCE LATE MAY!)

Meanwhile across the rest of the river valley, it remains above flood stage but the levels continue a slow fall with the continued decreases at Gavins Point Dam near Yankton SD.

At Sioux City, the stage was 29.88 at Noon. Flood Stage is 30 feet. The river is forecast to fall to 27 feet by Tuesday.

At Decatur NE, the stage was 37.57ft at Noon. Flood Stage is 35 feet. The river is forecast to fall to flood stage around September 1st.

At Blair NE, the stage was 29.3ft at 12:15pm. Flood Stage is 26.5 feet. The river is forecast to fall to 27.5 feet Tuesday. It should fall below flood stage either September 1st or 2nd.

At Omaha, the stage was 33.38 ft at 12:30pm. Flood Stage is 29 feet. The river is forecast to fall to 32 feet by Tuesday. It should fall below flood stage sometime around Labor Day Weekend barring any additional heavy precipitation.

At Plattsmouth NE, the stage was 32.12ft at Noon. Flood stage is 26 feet. The river is forecast to fall to 30.8 feet Tuesday. It may be an additional 10-14 days thereafter before the river falls below flood stage here.

At Nebraska City, NE, the stage was 21.8ft at 12:30pm. Flood Stage is 18 feet. The river is forecast to 20.5 feet by Tuesday. It should fall below flood stage sometime around Labor Day barring any additional heavy precipitation.
