Some much needed rain fell across the northern counties of the state while the southern and especially the southeastern counties of the state which is in moderate drought received nothing. Estimates show the heaviest rainfall occurred in the eastern counties of the state, with one band of 2-3″ rainfall from near Center Point and Alburnett ESE through Springville, Morley, Olin to near Wheatland in western Clinton County. Another smaller band extended across southern Clayton through far NE Delaware into NW Dubuque County. Areas south of a Rock Rapids to Ida Grove to Boone to Iowa City to Grandview line saw little if anything from this mornings activity.
