ANOTHER SEVERE DAY?: There is once again a slight risk of severe weather posted for almost the entire state of Iowa for today and tonight. The main threat from any thunderstorms that develop will be from large hail and damaging winds. Isolated heavy rainfall is possible as well.

QUIET END: Partly to Mostly Sunny skies return by late on Wednesday and will last through the rest of the week before another round of showers and thunderstorms return late Friday into Saturday and early Sunday. Temperatures throughout the week will remain near seasonal levels, lower to middle 80s with nighttime readings in the upper 50s to lower 60s.

END OF MONTH: The GFS Model continues to show a ridge developing over the desert southwest and Plains states. This could bring warmer and drier weather to the state, something that isn’t going to be helpful given the abnormally dry conditions across a large portion of southern and NW Iowa. It also shows a substantial tropical feature moving into Florida and then riding slowly up the coast. We’ll see how this pans out in future runs.
