SHOWERY SATURDAY: The weekend may start a bit wet especially over the eastern half of the state. Some showers and isolated thunderstorms will be possible from the back side of the frontal system that came through the state yesterday with little fanfare. Rain amounts will be light with any locales getting rain seeing less than a tenth of an inch.

RAIN NEXT WEEK: There will be several chances of showers and thunderstorms next week with a fast moving flow over the state. Rain moves back in late Monday over the western part of the state through Wednesday morning when the shower and thunderstorm chances depart to the east. Some of the rainfall could be heavy given the high QPF readings, which will help in the abnormally dry conditions covering almost half of the state. There will be another chance again by Friday afternoon through next Saturday with another quick moving system coming out of the northwest. Temperatures will remain at seasonal levels throughout the week with highs in the upper 70s to middle 80s and lows in the upper 50s to middle 60s.

END OF MONTH: The model continues to show a possible heat ridge developing off to the west which may bring a last shot of heat to the state. However also on this model run is a possible tropical system in the Gulf Of Mexico that may effect our weather as well. As the ridge moves to the east it will flatten and temperatures will cool but may still remain at or above seasonal norms if this pans out. We’ll have to wait for future runs on this one.
