The Storm Prediction Center has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch effective until 1am Friday morning for the following counties, Cherokee, Ida, Lyon, O’Brien, Osceola, Plymouth, Sioux and Woodbury. A squall line currently over South Dakota is forecast to move ESE into the northwestern counties of the state late this evening. Damaging winds and large hail will be the main threats with these storms as they track through. Other watches are possible depending on the strength and track of these storms in the coming hours.
