RAIN AND COOLER: Chances of rain will come and go over the next few days. The next chance will come across the southwestern counties later today into Saturday. The best chance statewide comes Saturday afternoon into Saturday night, with another frontal system moving through. Some severe weather could be possible on Saturday with this system. Rain returns again Monday into Tuesday of next week as well. Temperatures will begin in the 80s today through the weekend and early next week before temperatures drop into the upper 70s in some areas by the middle of next week and in time for the start of State Fair.

MID MONTH: A quick moving flow is in store according to this run by mid-month with a flat ridge over the SW and a trough over the east. A northwesterly flow aloft will bring quick moving systems and slightly cooler conditions from Canada if it holds out.

EMILY: Emily degraded to a remnant low over Hispanola yesterday. There is a 60% chance that the remnants may reorganize into a tropical entity once more. Right now it looks like it’s no threat to the US at this time.
