A Severe Thunderstorm Watch was issued earlier this afternoon and is in effect until 9pm this evening. This effects Allamakee, Howard, Mitchell and Winneshiek counties. This will mainly be for thunderstorms that may stray into the northern tier of counties during the late afternoon and evening hours. The main threats will be from large hail and damaging winds. The rest of the state will remain hot and dry through tomorrow.
