DRY TIME: The chances of showers and thunderstorms will be moving out of the state for several days. Although there could be a very isolated chance of one, the next widespread chance won’t occur statewide again until Tuesday. This will be welcome news in the Tri-State region that was hit with record rainfall over 14″ in some areas. Temperatures will be in the 80s to near 90 through Saturday, with temperatures increasing into the lower to middle 90s Sunday through Tuesday.

WET TIME: Tuesday night through Thursday will be the next chance at showers and thunderstorms across the state. It’s too early to determine any severe weather risk or the amount of rainfall that could occur, but given the last few systems, heavy rain and isolated flooding are possible. Temperatures will cool back off into the 80s.

DON: Tropical Storm Don will be making landfall late Friday night or early Saturday morning south of Corpus Christi and north of South Padre Island. Winds as of this writing are at 50mph. It is likely to remain at tropical storm strength as it makes landfall. It’s too early to determine whether the remnants will merge with the monsoonal flow in the desert southwest and move toward Iowa. We’ll have to wait.
