RAIN AND SEVERE: Another chance of showers and thunderstorms moves back into the state later today and will last through at least Friday. There is a slight risk of severe weather across far northwestern Iowa today with the best chances being over the Dakotas, mainly centered around Aberdeen SD where a moderate risk has been outlooked. There is a slight risk of severe weather Wednesday and Wednesday night across a large section of the state. The main threats that day will be from damaging winds and large hail. Some heavy rainfall is possible and given the amount of rain that fell in some areas over the last few days, some isolated flooding is possible. Temperatures during the period will be in the mid 80s to lower 90s. Some areas especially in central and southern Iowa will see some TRIPLE H weather with heat indices at or above 100°

FURTHER AHEAD: Still looks as if the entire state may get a visit from TRIPLE H by late this coming weekend or early next week as the 594mb ridge begins to take hold just to the south once more. There will be ample chances of showers and thunderstorms this time as the center of the heat will be well to the south, however temperatures will be back near or above 90° with heat indices over 100° once more.
