MORE RAIN AHEAD: A few dry days are in store across the state, but more rainfall is expected by the middle of the week. Rainfall amounts could be siginificant if the QPF chart holds with 1-3″ possible over the five day period (of which today and most of Tuesday will be dry.) Severe weather is possible but it’s too early to determine any areas at this time. Most likely any severe weather threats will involve large hail and damaging winds similiar to the thunderstorms the past several days.

TRIPLE H FOR SOME: The heat will build back into the state, but not everybody will feel the effect, Temperatures across the southern counties by Wednesday and Thursday will be in the lower to middle 90s with heat indices well over 100° once more. This may lead to some Heat Advisories later on. The northern counties will only see highs in the 80s but will see the higher humidities and heat indices approaching or surpassing 100 in some areas. The heat looks to make a full blast back into the state by Sunday and into the following week.

RAGBRAI: The ride from Atlantic to Carroll today looks good, with temperatures in the mid to upper 80s for highs with mostly sunny skies. There should be no issues for riders outside of the hills. The rest of the RAGBRAI forecasts are listed in the video but more updated ones will be posted on the blog later as well.
