Multiple Chances of Severe Weather This Week

This heat can’t stay forever! Temperatures will eventually begin dropping tomorrow as we move on to the End of the Week. Along with that, We have multiple Non-Severe Thunderstorm Chances all through the Forecast. If we do have a Severe Chance this week however, It is quite limited. Let’s start off with today’s Outlook. We will have Clear, Sunny skies through this Afternoon. Around 3PM today we should see Widely Scattered Showers and Thunderstorms form around the area, With a Small Chance of these storms becoming Severe. However, if a cell does seem to pop up the only threat would most likely be Damaging Winds. Now, you should still take this threat seriously. Damaging Winds has caused a lot of Damage in Central Iowa, including a Doppler Radar falling of a tower. If that’s not enough for you, A grain bin caved in as well. If you don’t take that seriously than why are you even listening to this?
We will monitor today’s situation closely and give you updates as they come in. However, today’s threat should be quite Isolated.
Tomorrow there should be a more organized threat in portions of Central to Western Iowa. All threat’s of Severe Weather would be possible if this threat does hold together and pieces together into Severe Weather. But at this time this threat remains isolated as it is quite hard to Forecast anything in Conditions like this in Iowa. We’ll have more on that tomorrow.
Moving into The Day after Tomorrow’s outlook, there is a Small Chance that we could see some Showers and Thunderstorms developing, But it is too early in the Forecast to Predict Severe Thunderstorms. However, I can tell you that if Thunderstorms to happen to develop and Become Severe, Damaging Winds and Large Hail would be the Primary threats. As always, A tornado is unlikely but can not be ruled out.
