MORE TRIPLE H: Heat Indices over 110° are likely across a large portion of the state tomorrow and the rest of the week as the long duration heat wave continues. Highs will be in the mid to upper 90s, combined with dewpoints in the 70s to low 80s, heat indices will easily top 110° in some areas and approach or surpass 120°. Newton Monday had a heat index of 129°. This is a very dangerous heat for anyone that has to be outside whether its for work or cleaning up from last weeks derecho. Take plenty of frequent breaks and stay hydrated with water or juice. Take time out to get into an air conditioned room as well.

RAIN?: Although the model shows a lot of rain chances over the next several days beginning on Thursday and lasting through the weekend into early next week, they will be very isolated, especially on Thursday and Friday. The QPF chart does show some possible substantial amounts across the state, but this will only occur if showers and thunderstorms can develop. Otherwise it will remain mostly dry across the state until the weekend.

HEAT RETURN: Out past 7 days there is a break from the TRIPLE H weather, but by late next week it will return but it looks at this time to not be as hot as what it is now given 500mb heights, but later runs will show if this trend continues as we move closer to the month of August.
