MORE TRIPLE H: It’s becoming a bit repetitive but the heat wave is expected to continue at least through Thursday if not longer across the state. Highs generally in the 90s with heat indices well over 100, approaching 110 or higher. Some places saw heat indices over 120°! Excessive Heat Warnings continue through mid-week statewide.

RAIN CHANCES: Chances of rain have gone up in this model run, however the QPF chart fails to show a drop of rain through Friday night across all but far NE Iowa which may get grazed by some showers later today and tomorrow. GFS shows decent shots at showers and storms Thursday through the upcoming weekend, which will be a godsend to some that will need the rain after this heat wave. The front will move through the state by early next week bringing some relief from Canada.

RETURNING: If the model run is right, the cooling down period next week will only last a few days before Triple H returns by late next week. However, given that it’s still more than a week out and we still have this heat wave to go through, we’ll keep an eye on it.
