TRIPLE H: Triple H Weather will be moving in and sticking around for at least the next 1-2 weeks across the area. Along with the Triple H, will come very isolated chances at showers and thunderstorms. There doesn’t look to be a widespread shot at rain in the next 1-2 weeks at least as of now. Today however will be the last pleasant day for a while, highs in the upper 70s to mid 80s across the state with increasing dewpoints. There is a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms mainly over the northwestern half of the state. Severe weather will remain north and northwest of the state. Friday will see a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms as the warm front moves across the state. After that shower and thunderstorm chances become very isolated.

LONG HEAT: The heat wave which will be in full bore by Saturday is expected to last through the following week, weekend and into the next week if models continue as shown. This would mean highs in the 90s, lows in the lower to middle 70s, dewpoints in the lower to middle 70s and heat indices above 100° if not over 110°.

FLOODING: The Missouri River continues to stay at Moderate Flood across the western border. An earlier post shows the latest. There is no end to the flooding at least in the short term. The release from Gavins Point Dam remains the same thus the forecast for the river from Sioux City on downstream remains steady for the time being.
