ACTIVE WEATHER: There is a slight risk of severe weather for today, tonight and tomorrow across a large section of the state. The entire state is covered today and tonight with the southern 3/4ths for Tuesday. The main threats will be from large hail and damaging winds. Heavy rain is possible, but flash flooding will be held to a minimum (even with a flash flood warning across NW Iowa this AM). There will be several chances of rain through Thursday before Triple H weather of hazy, hot and humid returns for the weekend. As seen on the forecast, temperatures will soar well into the 90s by the weekend and with dew points in the lower 70s, we could see heat indices well over 100 if not approaching 110°

MORE HEAT: If heat is what you’re looking for, you’ll love the possibilities in the one to two week period. Another heat ridge will develop across the plains into the Inter-Mountain west over that time period. It will be slowly building east with time, so heat and humidity will around again near the end of the month as it should be given that it is July.
