WARMING UP: Temperatures are on their way up across the state for the rest of the week. Say goodbye to the pleasant 70s for the sultry 90s by Thursday and Friday of this week. Heat indices will be at or above 100° during this time as well. Some NWS Offices may issue heat advisories if the need warrants, in any cases take precautions that you would during any hot day in the summer.

HOLIDAY STORMS: There is a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms during the holiday weekend. It will likely be isolated during the afternoon and evening with more widespread chances (albeit still a 30-40% shot) during the overnight and morning hours with MCS development, but MCS’s are very hard to forecast even 6-12 hours ahead, so developments will have to be warranted. These chances will last through the holiday weekend and into the first full week of July with temperatures in the 80s to near 90 through the weekend into early next week.
