QUIET TIME: Outside a few showers today across mainly the northeastern half of the state, we’ll be looking forward to several days of quiet and slowly warming temperatures. Today will remain brisk and “cold” with readings in the 60s to lower 70s across the SW. Readings through the weekend will rise around 4-6° each day. By this weekend readings will be back to near average across the state with 80s commonplace.

POSSIBLE MCS’S: With a heat ridge building across the southwest early next week, there could be a possiblity of nocturnal thunderstorm complexes or MCS’s moving through. These would likely develop in the Dakota’s or Nebraska and move through the state during the overnight or morning hours, with mostly dry sunny weather in the afternoon and evening. This is possible Saturday, Sunday and Monday Night. However, MCS’s are very hard to predict even 12 hours out, so pinpointing where one could be several days out is fruitless at best. By mid-week, heat and humidity will rule the roost with highs back at or above 90°.

INDEPENDENCE DAY WEEKEND: This model run still shows heat and humidity with isolated shots at showers and thunderstorms around. Again MCS’s are possible given the slight WNW flow across the state, which would eliminate any problems with regards to firework displays. More pinpointed issues during the holiday weekend will have to wait until at least this upcoming weekend.
