The Storm Prediction Center has issued a TORNADO Watch effective until 6am Tuesday morning for the following counties, Appanoose, Black Hawk, Bremer, Butler, Cerro Gordo, Davis, Emmet, Franklin, Grundy, Hancock, Hardin, Jasper, Kossuth, Mahaska, Marion, Marshall, Monroe, Palo Alto, Poweshiek, Tama, Wapello, Winnebago and Worth. A squall line is currently moving through the western and central counties of the state. All along this line, some spinup tornadoes could be possible but the main threat will likely come from straightline winds of 60-70mph, with some isolated large hail reports. These storms will also bring some heavy rainfall which may cause some localized flooding.
