Calm and beautiful weather has been the story for RAGBRAI thus far, and that story shows no sign of changing today. The morning will be a cool and brisk one in the upper 50s and low 60s, alongside a southeasterly wind at 10-15 MPH. Temperatures will warm up to the mid-80s by afternoon as the wind shifts more southerly, all under mostly-to-partly cloudy skies. Today’s ride features 51.4 miles and a low 934 feet of climb as the bikers head from Algona to Clear Lake, through the towns of Wesley, Britt, Garner, and Ventura.

The weather begins to head south as we hit Wednesday. An 80% chance of showers and thunderstorms is currently on the board with the high struggling to reach 80°. An elevated risk of severe weather also exists with the primary threats being heavy rain, damaging winds, and frequent lightning.
