River flooding continues to be an issue mainly along the Mississippi and Wapsipinicon rivers in the state. Flood warnings remain posted along these areas. Major flooding is still a concern at the Wapsipinicon River at De Witt, rising to 12.5′. Other spots have been lowered a little bit from previous forecasts; likely will be a minor-to-moderate flooding event. Additional rain is possible Wednesday which may bump heights again, however, this shouldn’t cause further flooding concerns beyond what we have right now. Latest information is posted below, data from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. today.

Mississippi River

• Burlington — until Saturday evening — near flood stage at 14.31′ (and rising), with a flow of 163 kcfs. Flood stage is 15′. Moderate flooding is forecasted, rising above flood stage Tuesday morning and continuing to rise to 16.5′ Thursday evening. Fall below flood stage Saturday evening. At 16′, water affects low-lying buildings and home in Montrose and Niota.
• Gladstone — until Saturday evening — near flood stage at 9.43′ (and rising), with a flow of 162 kcfs. Flood stage is 10′. Moderate flooding is forecasted, rising above flood stage this evening and continuing to rise to 12′ Thursday morning. Fall below flood stage Saturday evening.
• Illinois City — until Thursday — near flood stage at 14.19′ (and rising), with a flow of 159 kcfs. Flood stage is 15′. Moderate flooding is forecasted, rising above flood stage this evening and continuing to rise to 16′ Wednesday morning. Fall below flood stage Thursday. At 16′, water affects the park at Andalusia.
• Keithsburg — until Saturday morning — near flood stage at 13.59′ (and rising), with a flow of 169 kcfs. Flood stage is 14′. Moderate flooding is forecasted, rising above flood stage this evening and continuing to rise to 15.6′ Thursday morning. Fall below flood stage Saturday morning. At 14.5′, water affects low lying areas in Oquawka.
• Muscatine — until Friday morning — near flood stage at 15.54′ (and rising), with a flow of 156 kcfs. Flood stage is 16′. Moderate flooding is forecasted, rising above flood stage today and continuing to rise to 18′ Wednesday morning. Fall below flood stage Friday morning. At 18′, water affects most of the Riverside Park parking lot.
• New Boston — until Friday evening — near flood stage at 14.54′ (and rising), with a flow of 148 kcfs. Flood stage is 15′. Moderate flooding is forecasted, rising above flood stage today and continuing to rise to 16.8′ Wednesday morning. Fall below flood stage Friday evening.
• Rock Island — until Thursday morning — minor flooding is occurring at 15.49′ (and rising), with a flow of 168 kcfs. Moderate flooding is forecasted. The river continues to rise steadily and will crest at 16.4′ Tuesday morning before falling below flood stage Thursday morning. At 16.5′, water affects Credit Island Lane in Davenport and the 4700 block of River Drive in Moline. Water is at the base of the flood wall gates at the downtown Rock Island river front.

Wapsipinicon River

• Anamosa — until Friday — no flooding is occurring at 10.08′ (and rising), with a flow of 4.11 kcfs. Moderate flooding is forecasted, rising above flood stage Tuesday and continuing to rise to 20′ Wednesday. Fall below flood stage Friday. At 18.8′, Landis Road is closed.
• De Witt — until further notice — no flooding is occurring at 9.72′ (and falling), with a flow of 4.33 kcfs. Major flooding is forecasted. The river will continue to fall through the day Monday, then will begin rising. It will rise above flood stage Thursday, and continue rising to 12.5′ Saturday morning. At 12.5′, water affects old US Highway 61 near the river.
• Independence — until Tuesday morning — moderate flooding is occurring at 13.98′ (and rising), with a flow of 14.3 kcfs. The river crested Sunday and is receding; will fall below flood stage Tuesday morning. At 14′, water affects residences and streets in low-lying areas of Independence and Littleton.
