Not a single complaint to mention in the forecast as RABGRAI XLIV kicks off their annual event, biking from Glenwood to Shenandoah. Partly cloudy skies will be the story throughout the day with temperatures slowly making their way to the upper 80s by afternoon.

This is weather to be expected for this time of year – much closer to normal’s than the previous excessive heat we had earlier last week. As always, it will be important to stay plenty of water and to watch for signs of heat exhaustion. Dew points will still make things somewhat uncomfortable, in the low-to-mid 70s. A light northerly breeze at 5-10 MPH should help things.

All-in-all, great weather is ahead for the roughly 50 mile trek with 2,614 feet of climb. Plenty of exciting action for Shenandoah as well, who last saw RAGBRAI come around 13 years ago in 2003!
