A SMATTERING OF RAIN: Chances of rain will be ongoing through Thursday across the state with a system slowly moving through the area. Highs will be held down into the 60s and lower 70s during this period. There will be some breaks in the rain activity and some sunshine may peak through today in our western counties. This will be shrouded in clouds as we head into tonight as the rain activity increases once again through Thursday as mentioned. Rainfall amounts through Thursday will vary, with the heaviest amounts likely over the eastern counties where over an inch will be possible. A half inch will be likely in the western counties of the state.
WEEKEND: Friday will bring the sunshine back to the state with readings mainly in the 60s. Readings will climb back to the 70s in our western counties on Saturday with partly to mostly sunny skies around. A frontal system will drop into the state from the northwest late Saturday night into Sunday with a chance of a few showers and perhaps a rumble of thunder. Readings on Sunday look to range from near 60 north to the middle and upper 70s south (dependent on any possible sunshine we may get).
MORE ACTIVITY: The rain activity doesn’t look to let up as we head into next week with a storm system coming in from the west late Sunday night into Monday with a better chance of showers and thunderstorms at that time. This looks to last into Tuesday as well with cooler readings by the middle of the week. Further along, the pattern continues to look active as we head to the end of April and into the start of May. Temperatures look to stay relatively close to seasonal levels with 60s and lower 70s possible. With the amount of rain seen in the model, field work may be hard to come by and in turn planting. We’ll continue to monitor the models for any changes and or trends.
