WARM AND DRY: Several more days of warm and dry weather across the state as temperatures warm into the 60s and 70s across the state today and Friday. A storm system will be pretty much stalled over the Plains late this week and into the weekend with chances of showers and thunderstorms out there but only a few extra clouds is the best we’ll be able to do through Saturday in our western counties. The chances look to increase a little on Sunday over the western counties but even those chances look slight at best with any rain amounts being a tenth of an inch or less.
NEXT WEEK: The chances of rain look to increase as we head into Monday and Tuesday across the entire state however the chances will be scattered at best with some areas possibly not getting a drop of rain those two days. Readings will be held down a bit (likely in the upper 50s to middle 60s) with a few more clouds around. High Pressure from the north will push the rain chances south of the state as we head into Tuesday night and Wednesday with readings staying in the 60s for the most part. Temperatures look to jump back into the 70s to possibly near 80 by Friday with a chance of scattered showers and storms returning at that time.
EXTENDED PERIOD: Looking into the extended period, the weather pattern is a bit more active with shower and thunderstorm chances on the 24th and 25th of April. Another system is shown moving in around the 27th and 28th with more chances of precipitation at that time as well. While the next week is showing very little rainfall, the extended period is at this time. We’ll see if this carries on through more model runs.
