Evening Update: Storms Moving Through The State.

Good evening,

Storms tonight have turned out to be quiet, certainly not a bad thought. As of 8:15 P.M., there are two main storm complexes moving northeast. One just north of Des Moines metro area, while another south and southwest of the Quad Cities. Currently there is one severe thunderstorm warning, producing quarter size hail with 60 mph wind gusts just north of Altoona.

Western Iowa at this point is seeing more individualized storms, which should be monitored, while storms in central Iowa are making their way further east. Southeastern Iowa will notice storms exiting in the next hour or two, while east central, and northeast Iowa will be hit later tonight. Rain showers will make their way to northeastern Iowa between 10:00 P.M., and 12:00 A.M.. As always, we’ll be here, keeping track of the storms.
