The Storm Prediction Center has continued to outlook a good portion of the state in a risk area for severe weather for Wednesday and Wednesday night. All modes of severe weather are possible with the main threats coming from large hail and damaging straight line winds. It’s still a bit too early to determine timing at this time, but models are indicating the best chances will be from late afternoon through the evening hours before the threat tapers off. This may change in future model runs. The best chances will be across the southern half of the state on southward.
There is still plenty of time to watch this event as it draws closer. What we’ll have to monitor is the weather prior to the event beginning. Any little change on Tuesday could increase or decrease the chances of severe weather developing or occurring. We’ll keep watch over the next 48 hours for any changes.
Prior to Wednesday, skies will be sunny to partly sunny today and on Tuesday (with more clouds on the increase on Tuesday) It will be quite breezy on Tuesday with sustained winds of 10-20mph (out of the south) with gusts approaching 30. Readings will be in the 50s and 60s.
