WEEKEND DISTURBANCE: A disturbance will come through the state late today through Saturday with a chance of some rain and snow mixed. The best chance of seeing the snow will be during the overnight hours through mid-morning. Amounts will be light and any accumulations will be a dusting to perhaps a half inch at most. Highs today will be in the 40s to around 50 with readings on Saturday dropping into the upper 30s through the middle 40s. Sunday will see some sunshine with readings in the 40s across the state.
NEXT WEEK: Warmer air looks to return Monday and Tuesday ahead of another system coming in from the west. This should boost temperatures back into the 50s for most of the state with perhaps a few 60s in our southern and southwestern counties. The storm system will quickly move through the state late Tuesday night into Wednesday with a chance of some rain showers. The amounts from this system don’t look to amount to much more than a tenth of an inch. Temperatures look to drop back into the 40s for Thursday and Friday with a system bypassing the state to the south those two days. Only an increased cloud cover in our southern and southeastern counties will be possible those days.
HOPPING ON BUNNY TRAIL TO APRIL: Looking at what this run of the GFS shows for the extended period, the weather doesn’t look promising at this time for Easter Weekend with a system moving in from the west late Saturday into Easter Sunday with a chance of some rain. We’ll watch this closely in the coming days. Beyond that, temperature look to head below seasonal levels for the last few days of March in the wake of the system moving through Easter Weekend. Temperatures begin to rebound heading into April with readings possibly getting into the 50s and 60s at that time.
