Officials have enacted tow bans in several counties, highlighted in red in the map below. Scanner traffic suggests Boone County may also be joining this list but as of writing nothing has appeared on the maps.

With some of the precipitation falling as freezing rain some power outages are occurring, Alliant Energy is reporting about 1400 customers without power in Des Moines County in southeast Iowa. MidAmerican is also reporting some outages, with approximately 2300 customers without power on the Illinois side of the Quad Cities.

A multitude of businesses have closed or are closing later today due to the weather. County offices at the Boone County Courthouse are closing at noon, however state offices (Magistrate, Clerk of Court, Juvenile Court Services) located in the courthouse will be remaining open.
