COOLDOWN: After an active day on Wednesday, we’ll be in for some cooler and calmer weather to end the week. Skies will be turning mostly sunny with some lingering clouds across the northeastern counties of the state. Sunshine will be in full force on Friday to end the week. Highs today and tomorrow will range from the middle 40s north to the lower 50s south.
WARMING TEMPS: Winds will switch to the south and southwest as we head into the weekend and early next week this will be ahead of a storm system that will move in Sunday night and looks to through a good portion of next week. Readings will make it back into the 50s this weekend and early next week before falling back into the 40s for highs toward the end. It’s too early to determine rainfall amounts at this time or the possibility of any wintry precipitation as well. We’ll keep watch over this in the coming days.
GIVING THANKS IN THE EXTENDED PERIOD: As we take a look at the extended period which takes us through Thanksgiving and Black Friday, colder air filters in behind the system at the end of next week and into the following weekend. This could bring readings below seasonal levels for the middle to end of November. Temperatures look to moderate a bit with another batch of cold air coming for Thanksgiving into Black Friday. At this time, this would be some of the coldest air we’ve seen since Winter if this happens to occur. It should be noted, the 00z GFS model run from yesterday showed something similar to that as well around Thanksgiving so we’ll wait and see.
