A LITTLE RAIN: Some showers and a few thunderstorms will be possible today across the state. The best chances will be across the eastern counties of the state where the heaviest rainfall amounts are expected to be as well. Highs today will be tempered down in the 60s to around 70. Readings will be falling in our western and central counties during the afternoon hours as colder air filters in from the northwest. We still could see some lingering showers in the far eastern counties early Friday morning with some partly to mostly sunny skies building in by late morning. Highs on Friday will be much cooler and more typical of early November with temperatures mainly in the 50s.
WARMING BACK UP: Saturday will be quite cool but still typical of this time of year with highs in the 50s to near 60. Readings will start to warm up again as we head into Sunday, Monday and Tuesday with winds coming around out of the south and southwest. We should see temperatures boosting up into the 60s for most of the state by Tuesday at least ahead of the next system that looks to make its appearance by the middle of next week.
MID-WEEK STORM: This run of the GFS shows the storm the middle of next week not looking as intense as previous runs, nevertheless, it will bring us some precipitation on Wednesday across the state with cooler readings returning as we head into the end of next week. Given the fluctuations in intensity, we’re still not confident quite yet in what may happen at this time. It is a storm we’ll keep watching however.
LATER ON: The GFS shows another warm up around the 14th and 15th ahead of another system that looks to come in from the southwest. This system, around the 16th-18th could bring quite a bit of precipitation to the state at that time. This is another system we’ll have to keep our eye on over the next few days or so. A quick shot of colder air is shown following this system before readings look to moderate to seasonal levels through the end of the period.
