More Warmth Today and Wednesday

WARMTH WON’T LAST: Another day of warm temperatures across the state with plenty of sunshine around as well. Highs today will make it back into the upper 60s to middle 70s. Wednesday will be the same story with temperatures in the upper 60s to middle 70s, however there will be an increase in cloudiness ahead of the next system that will be moving into the state late Wednesday night into the day on Thursday. This will bring a chance of some showers and a few thunderstorms as well. At this time, rainfall amounts will generally be around a half inch with some isolated totals nearing an inch in some areas.

COOLING DOWN: Some lingering showers are possible in the eastern and northeastern counties of the state early on Friday with some clearing by late in the day. Highs will be a lot cooler with 50s more likely across the state for highs and lows back into the 30s. Saturday will be partly to mostly sunny with readings in the 50s as well. Winds pick up out of the southwest as we head into Sunday which should help boost readings back into the 60s for most of the state with mainly sunny skies at that time. This will last into Monday as well before another storm looks to move in next Tuesday and Wednesday.

INTO THE DEPTHS OF NOVEMBER: Looking further ahead in the forecast, the GFS has another bout of colder air coming in from the northwest late next week with readings dropping a bit below seasonal levels for Mid-November. This looks to be followed by another boost in readings back above seasonal levels on the 15th. This is shown to continue through the end of the period (18th) with perhaps a bit of precipitation possible at that time as well. Still too early to determine much beyond the next seven days but we’ll keep watching.
