All of Iowa, Forecast

A Rather Blah Day Today

A WINDY RAINY AFFAIR: Today and part of Wednesday will feature rain and a bit of wind across the state. The best chances of rain will be over the eastern two-thirds of the state while the western third could see some isolated chances of rain but not as widespread as further to the east. Highs today will be in the 50s to near 60 with temperatures on Wednesday only making it into the upper 40s to middle 50s across the state. As cold air moves in from the northwest late Wednesday into Wednesday night, there is some thinking that the precipitation could end as a rain/snow mix in our far northern counties. This should not cause much concern at this time, but any changes to that will be noted in future posts.

DRENCHED GHOSTS AND GOBLINS: Another storm system looks to make an appearance late Friday night into Halloween across the state. The rain looks to be on the way out just in time for Trick or Treat but some lingering showers could still be possible over the eastern counties of the state at that time. Readings through the end of the week and into the weekend will be in the 50s for the most part with some warming back into the 60s as we head into the early part of next week.

NOVEMBER BOUND: Looking into November, the first several days of the month look to feature warmer than normal temperatures with highs mainly in the 60s as we head toward the middle of next week. A storm is seen moving into the state around the 5th and 6th of the month with a chance of rain at that time. Colder air comes in behind the front on the 8th and 9th with temperatures quickly rebounding back above average as we head toward the end of the forecast which is Veterans Day. A real roller coaster pattern could be setting up, but the specifics are still yet to be determined as yet.
