Wet & Windy Friday

 

Low pressure moving out of the SW US will bring rounds of showers and a few thunderstorms throughout the day on Friday. Severe weather is not anticipated and rainfall amounts will be in the 1/4 to 1/2 inch range with a few areas receiving up to 3/4 of an inch. Along with the periods of showers and storms it will be a windy Friday with highs in the upper 50’s across Northern Iowa to near 70 across portions of SW Iowa.

Rain will likely continue into early Friday night before moving out of the state during the overnight hours. Lows will be in the mid 40’s across the north to lower 50’s across SE Iowa. Winds will remain gusty across the state giving Iowa a cold and raw night.

Looking ahead into the weekend rain will be out of here early Saturday morning leaving in its wake mostly sunny skies and highs in the lower 60’s. It will be windy on Saturday as well.
