NOTHING GOING ON: Not a lot is happening and not a lot of weather will be happening the rest of the week and into the weekend at least when it comes to sky conditions. Those skies will be mainly sunny for the foreseeable future with readings today and Thursday in the 60s to lower 70s for highs. A front will come through late Thursday night but may only bring a few clouds to the area. Any precipitation looks to stay north and northeast of the state at this point. What it will do is bring our readings down into the 50s for highs on Friday and Saturday and lows Saturday morning may drop into the upper 20s in the northern and northeastern counties of the state which would end the growing season in those areas. Temperatures look to boost back toward 60s as we head into Sunday as winds turn around out of the south at that time.
SOME ACTIVITY: As we head into next week, the weather pattern becomes a bit more active with a cold front moving into the state on Monday leading to a chance of some showers at that time. The rain chances will linger through early on Wednesday as the front is slow to move out of the state. Readings early next week will be in the 60s for the most part although Tuesday could see some 50s especially in areas that could see continued rain through most of the day.
LOOKING AHEAD: Looking through the rest of the period, the end of next week will see readings bounce back after a colder day on Wednesday following the frontal passage mentioned earlier. The GFS shows that temperatures are likely to be back near seasonal readings on Thursday and Friday of next week with mainly clear skies across the state. Further ahead, the GFS has another storm moving through around the 25th and 26th of the month with some rainfall at that time as well. There looks to be some wild swings in temperatures during the period as well.
