SEPTEMBER SUN: As we head into the month of September, it’ll continue to feel like the middle of summer with hot and humid weather across the state. Highs in the 80s and lower 90s will be common through the rest of the week with mostly sunny skies around. There are slight chances of showers and thunderstorms during the overnight hours especially in our western and northwestern counties. Other areas may see only a few clouds during the overnight hours and would remain dry.
LABOR DAY WEEKEND: A frontal system will slowly approach the state through the Labor Day Weekend. This will bring some better chances of showers and thunderstorms to the state with the best chances on Sunday and Monday. There still will be some sunshine around outside the rain chances as well. Highs are expected to be in the 80s and lower 90s with readings a few degrees cooler on Labor Day Monday as the front moves through the state.
FARTHER INTO THE MONTH: Looking further into September, slightly cooler readings will come into the state early next week, however temperatures will still be slightly above seasonal levels. The GFS has another storm system moving in the middle of next week with a chance of showers and thunderstorms at that time. Temperatures look to return to seasonal levels as we head into the middle of the month with some chances of showers and storms however models can still change and we’ll watch for any trends that may develop in the coming days.
